Overview
Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD) seeks a Manager 1, Software Engineering for Top Secret/SCI clearance in Space/Satellite Systems. You will be responsible for providing the personnel, processes, and software tools to meet the current and future needs of the program and technologies within our various business units. This role is located in Dulles, VA. Responsibilities
Provide operational guidance for definition, development, and verification of products and capabilities Identify and implement people, processes, and tools to support multiple Product Lines to achieve objectives Recruit, staff, and retain talent to deliver on objectives Identify high-quality technical personnel to meet business demand Provide technical and people leadership to establish and maintain an exceptional organization across locations, divisions, and programs; oversee Simulation Software teams; develop, design, implement, apply, train, and support state-of-the-art solutions for key targets within the TSSD Portfolio Support and promote affordability, knowledge management, engineering utilization, and process-improvement initiatives; monitor metrics on engineering efficiency and quality; share lessons learned and best practices Ensure staff is fully allocated to programs to minimize overhead; ensure programs are fully staffed to meet development schedules Manage a small group of simulation software engineers while also contributing to programs in development or leadership roles Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related STEM field 5+ years of Software/Systems experience with strong problem-solving skills (decomposition, root-cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring) Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI at time of application U.S. citizen Experience in requirements analysis, modeling and simulation, verification and validation at subsystem and system level Leadership experience in software engineering, controls, or systems engineering; preferably with Space Flight Software or Simulation Software Ability to partner with adjacent discipline areas and program leadership Preferred Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance Experience in technical leadership/management roles Experience with Earned Value Management Knowledge of staffing, engineering metrics, and training resources, processes, and tools Systems engineering excellence in requirements analysis, modeling and simulation, verification and validation at subsystem and system level; or spacecraft development and mission systems integration Experience developing and integrating software and hardware for space applications MS in Engineering or related STEM field Hands-on technical experience with spacecraft or satellite systems Proven experience leading technically diverse teams across multiple locations Experience in Space Flight Software or Simulation Software Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $129,000.00 - $184,000.00. The salary range is a guideline; offers depend on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and market conditions. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses where applicable. Long Term Incentives may apply for VP/Director roles.
