multiple Software Engineers
to support Tactical Space Systems Division in their development and deployment of satellite ground software. The location for this role is in
Dulles, VA. To be successful, you should enjoy learning, learn quickly, be motivated by the opportunity to solve hard problems, work well with a motivated and mission-focused team, and take great pride in your work. You should have demonstrated experience in technical problem solving including decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring. Software Engineers will be a critical member of one or more Agile Scrum Teams.
After hours or extended work week may be required. What Youll Have an Opportunity to Do: Full stack development at the OS, platform, and mission unique software layer.
Developing client and server applications using service-oriented architectures and message bus-based data exchange.
Applications will span languages and toolsets including C++, Python, Postgres, Ansible, and cloud infrastructure provisioning.
Developer will be expected to be a self-starter capable of making decisions with overall project budget and schedule in mind.
Develop software which provides command and control functionality of a hardware system.
Develop software which enables activity planning and constraint checking to achieve mission outcomes.
Develop software which enables the visualization of a complex environment in both two and three dimensions.
To be successful you will need: Familiarity with Agile programs including Agile DevOps.
Experience with the design, build, and deployment of software products.
Experience in producing software architecture documentation.
This position may be filled at a Principal or Sr. Principal level. Basic Qualifications: Principal Software Engineer Bachelors in software engineering, Computer Science, or closely related discipline plus 5 years of experience.
Requires experience with Astrodynamics and Python & C++. US Citizenship is required with active DoD TS Clearance at time of application.
Sr. Principal Software Engineer Bachelors in software engineering, Computer Science, or closely related discipline plus 9 years of experience.
Requires experience with Astrodynamics and Python/C++. US Citizenship is required with active DoD TS Clearance at time of application.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Free Flyer software strongly preferred.
Experience developing satellite ground software for spacecraft missions is highly preferred.
Experience with the creation and use of spacecraft command and control systems.
Experience with planning software and constraint checking applications.
Experience with visualization tools for space missions.
Java, C, Qt experience.
Linux, Ansible, Docker experience.
UX/UI experience.
SAP/SCI eligibility.

$110,300 - $165,500 Salary Range 2:
$137,400 - $206,000 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers.
