Head Start School Readiness Coach

Our organization is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Start School Readiness Coach to join our team. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide on-site coaching and support to early childhood educators, helping them enhance their skills and create engaging, impactful learning experiences. Key Responsibilities
Provide Practice-Based Coaching: Work one-on-one with teachers and their supervisors to improve classroom interactions and ensure curriculum fidelity. Use tools like the CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) to conduct observations and provide targeted, constructive feedback that supports professional growth. Deliver Training and Professional Development: Create and implement training sessions on topics such as child development, curriculum, and best teaching practices. Ensure all training aligns with Head Start Performance Standards and state licensing rules. Support Dual Language Learners: For classrooms with dual language learners, you’ll help teachers with screening, planning, and implementing strategies to support English language development. Bilingual ability in English/Spanish is highly preferred. Analyze Data and Drive Improvement: Assist in collecting and analyzing data, including classroom observation scores and assessment results, to inform and individualize your coaching and training efforts. Qualifications
Education:
A bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field from an accredited college is required. Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience working with young children in a group setting. Prior experience with Early Head Start and Practice-Based Coaching is a plus. Certifications:
You must obtain and maintain specific observational assessment certifications (such as QCIT or CLASS) within 90 days of hire. Our organization provides support and resources to help you achieve these certifications, including mentoring and additional training. Essential Skills:
You must be self-motivated and highly organized, able to manage a demanding workload and adapt to emergent needs.
