Overview

HDI Global Insurance Company is seeking an Inland Marine Lead to oversee underwriting strategy and drive profitable growth across multiple classes of business. This leadership role is critical to expanding HDI’s footprint in the U.S. market and delivering best-in-class solutions to our brokers and clients. Responsibilities

Develop and execute underwriting strategy for Inland Marine lines, including Contractors Equipment, Transit, Warehouse Legal Liability, Fine Arts, and Bailees. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing underwriting team. Set performance expectations, support technical development, and foster a collaborative culture. Build and manage a profitable book of business; monitor pricing adequacy, risk selection, limit deployment, and accumulation controls. Maintain and grow relationships with key trading partners and wholesale brokers across the U.S. Ensure high service standards and market responsiveness. Serve as referral authority on complex risks and high-value accounts. Guide consistent underwriting execution across regions. Collaborate with actuarial, claims, reinsurance, and product teams to enhance coverage offerings and respond to market trends and emerging risks. Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, corporate governance policies, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications

10+ years of experience in Inland Marine underwriting, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team management role Proven track record of profitably managing a national or regional Inland Marine book Deep technical knowledge of Inland Marine coverage forms, rate structures, and risk assessment approaches Strong market presence and established broker relationships Bachelor’s degree required; advanced insurance designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AMIM preferred Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills Experience working within a global or multinational insurer preferred Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $180,000-$230,000 plus eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including experience, education, and location. Benefits
