Overview
Audit Senior Manager, State and Local Government – Assurance & Advisory. Lead multiple audit engagements, provide technical expertise on GASB, GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS/Yellowbook standards, and mentor audit staff within a Top 100 CPA firm based in the LA/OC area. The role focuses on serving state and local government clients with high-quality audit and advisory services and fostering client relationships and business growth. Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple audit engagements to deliver quality audit and advisory services to state and local government clients. Provide technical expertise on GASB, GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS/Yellowbook standards, ensuring compliance and consistency across all audit engagements. Develop and implement audit strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with client needs and objectives. Review and approve audit reports, providing constructive feedback to audit staff to enhance report quality and accuracy. Foster strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and guidance on complex accounting and financial matters. Collaborate with partners and senior leadership to identify business development opportunities and promote growth of assurance and advisory services. Stay abreast of changes in accounting and auditing standards and regulations, ensuring audit practices are compliant and up-to-date. Mentor and develop audit staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or CPA designation is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of auditing experience, with a focus on state and local government clients. Comprehensive knowledge of GASB, GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS, and Yellowbook standards. Proven experience auditing in the states of California and Oregon is a must. Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and mentoring high-performing audit teams. Analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex accounting and financial issues. Excellent communication skills to convey complex information to clients and team members.
