Finance and Accounting Manager - Japanese VC
Voy is partnering with a rapidly growing US/Japan-focused Venture fund with a mission to accelerate innovation on a global scale by bridging the best of Silicon Valley with the dynamic corporate landscape of Asia. Due to growth, they are looking for a Finance Manager to join the team, with a strong focus on investor relations for their Japanese Corporate LPs. This role blends finance, reporting, and relationship management, requiring native or business-level Japanese proficiency and the ability to navigate both U.S. and Japanese business practices. What You’ll Do
Investor Relations
– Prepare and deliver quarterly LP reports in Japanese, answer technical investor questions, and explain changes to LP agreements. Portfolio Company Reporting
– Collect and review monthly statements from Japan-based portfolio companies, track cap table changes, and liaise with auditors. Fund Lifecycle Management
– Assist in closing older funds, coordinating asset sales, and managing regulatory filings in Japan and the U.S. Fund Reporting & Oversight
– Partner with the fund administrator on quarter-end and year-end close, review financial statements and investor distribution notices for accuracy, and ensure timely, high-quality reporting. Cross-Border Collaboration
– Work closely with partners in both the U.S. and Japan to support smooth fund operations. What We’re Looking For
Native or business-level fluency in Japanese (reading/writing/speaking) and English required 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or investor relations VC/PE/CVC experience a plus but not required Public Accounting and/or Consulting Backgrounds a plus but not required Familiarity with LP agreements, fund reporting, or legal/compliance matters is highly valued Detail-oriented, diplomatic, and able to handle complex, technical communications Comfortable with occasional travel to Tokyo HQ Candidate must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship Seniority level
