Chicago We are seeking a skilled Tax Manager to join an expanding mid-size CPA firm in Chicago. The ideal candidate will manage complex tax engagements, lead a team of tax professionals, and contribute to the firm's growth in tax services. We are an equal opportunity employer. Manage and oversee multiple tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, and corporations Review tax returns, research memos, and other tax-related deliverables Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients Stay current with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations Lead and mentor junior tax staff, including training and performance evaluations Develop and maintain client relationships Identify and pursue new business opportunities in tax services Contribute to the firm's tax policies, procedures, and best practices Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive client solutions Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's in Taxation preferred) CPA certification 5-7 years of public accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a tax managerial role Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws Experience with tax preparation software and research tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Proven track record in managing client relationships Preferred Skills
Experience in specific tax areas relevant to the Chicago market (e.g., real estate, hospitality, construction tax) Knowledge of Chicago-specific tax regulations Familiarity with tax issues related to high-net-worth individuals Experience with tax technology and workflow optimization Compensation and Benefits
