Overview
In partnership with our client, a well-established CPA firm located in Chicago, we are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join their Tax department. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a key role in managing tax engagements, preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, mentoring junior staff, and directly advising clients. Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Additional compensation types
Annual Bonus Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and non-profits. Conduct tax planning and research for clients across various industries. Identify and mitigate tax risks through thoughtful planning and analysis. Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining strong client relationships. Supervise and mentor junior staff and interns. Interact directly with clients to provide high-level service and support. Stay up to date on changes in tax law and regulations, and communicate relevant updates to the team. Assist in IRS and state tax audits and correspondence. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required. 3-6 years of public accounting tax experience is required. Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax laws. Strong analytical and research skills and ability to produce results under deadlines. Ability to apply strong attention to detail and multi-task. Experience with tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or UltraTax). Experience with real estate, pass-through entities, and high-net-worth individuals is preferred but not required.
