Location: San Jose, California (facility) Employment type: Travel assignment (19 weeks) Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Summary: The Oncology Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to cancer patients in hospital and clinical settings, administers cancer treatments, manages side effects, and provides education and emotional support to patients and families. The RN collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while upholding confidentiality, integrity, and safety standards. Required Qualifications

One year of recent experience as an Oncology RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications

Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Work Functions

Educate patients and families about oncology procedures and treatments, addressing concerns and fostering understanding Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved oncology nursing techniques Prepare and maintain oncology-specific equipment; assist oncologists during treatment and examinations Monitor and address patient comfort, safety, and side effects; implement interventions to enhance quality of life Assess and monitor patients, document conditions and responses Maintain detailed nursing documentation in medical records Respond to life-saving situations according to oncology standards, policies, procedures, and protocols Develop and implement individualized education plans for cancer patients and families Participate in oncology quality improvement initiatives Advocate for patients and support navigation of treatment plans Perform other duties within the scope of practice Adhere to hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Required Essential Skills

Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficient in PC skills Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment, push/pull, and bend Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and use department equipment Mental agility to handle deadlines, irregular schedules, and concentration under pressure Sensory capacity for visual accuracy and effective communication Benefits
