Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Oncology RN for a 19-week travel assignment in San Jose, California. Required Qualifications

One year of recent experience as an Oncology RN

Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations

Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification

ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification

Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Responsibilities

Educate patients and families about oncology procedures and treatments, addressing concerns and fostering understanding

Administer prescribed medications and treatments per oncology nursing techniques

Prepare and maintain oncology-specific equipment, assisting oncologists during treatment and examinations

Monitor and address patients' comfort, safety, and side effects, implementing interventions to enhance quality of life

Assess and monitor patients, document conditions and responses

Maintain detailed and accurate nursing documentation in the medical records

Respond to life-saving situations following oncology nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol

Develop and implement individualized education plans for cancer patients and families

Participate in oncology quality improvement initiatives

Advocate for oncology patients and support them in navigating treatment plans

Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Essential Skills

Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication

Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills

Physical ability to remain stationary and to move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend

Ability to work with a variety of personnel with professionalism

Technical/motor skills for procedures and equipment

Ability to cope with frequent public contact, work under deadlines, and manage variable schedules

Visual acuity and effective communication abilities
