Overview
UTC San Diego Health is seeking a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist for the East Campus Medical Center (Alvarado Road) on a Per Diem basis. The appointment type is Per Diem with 20% appointment percent. The position supports the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and OR Hybrid Room under general supervision.
Responsibilities
Operate digital radiological imaging equipment in accordance with Title 17 guidelines.
Oversee quality control procedures and enforce radiation safety practices.
Assist cardiologists, pulmonologists, CV surgeons during diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and OR Hybrid Room.
Assist professional nursing staff with patient preparation for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Prepare, operate, and ensure proper functioning of equipment for these procedures.
Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy; monitor and record events including hemodynamic calculations.
Operate digital processing equipment and perform quality control procedures as required.
Participate in performance improvement activities and provide cross-coverage as needed.
Assist with patient transportation as needed and may be on-call when assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
California Radiology Technologist - Fluoroscopy (CRT-F).
Registered Technologist for Radiography issued by ARRT (R.T(R)(ARRT)).
BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART within six months of hire date.
One year of experience as a Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist.
Knowledge of computers and new technology such as CR and DR.
Working knowledge of RIS and HIS.
Cross-coverage training in another modality preferred.
Ability to deal tactfully with people and develop good working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
Special Conditions
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
Employment is subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Must be able to wear lead apron.
Compensation and Benefits Pay: $69.37 per hour; Annual Full Pay Range: $144,845 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $69.37.
