Family Service Association - Fall River
Overview
Family Service Association has a Full Time (40 hours per week) opening for a Family Partner at our Family Resource Center. The starting hourly rate ranges from $20-2 with a flexible schedule between 8:30am - 5pm, Monday-Friday with (1-2 evenings per week until 7pm and 1 Saturday per month from 9am - 12pm). Family Partner works in conjunction with the Clinician to complete the CANS Assessment and to develop the Family Support Plan for Family Members experiencing CRA-related issues. The Family Resource Center provides evidence-based parent education groups, information and referral, mentoring, educational support and other opportunities for children and families. It also serves Children Requiring Assistance who are having serious problems at home and at school, including runaways, truants, and sexually exploited children. Responsibilities
Oversees the implementation of the Family Support Plan with support from other FRC staff. Work with all Family Members involved with the FRC; Family Members experiencing CRA-related issues are prioritized for services. Provide peer support to families, validating their experiences and listening to their voices. Facilitate FRC parenting, family and youth groups. Link families with appropriate services and advocate for them when necessary. Focus on understanding and meeting family needs; foster empowerment and linkages to peer/parent support and self-help programs. Participate in supervision as needed and maintain ethical and legal requirements of the Agency. Maintain positive, respectful, and collaborative work relationships; ensure necessary information is communicated to others. Contribute to organizational improvement and professional growth; work flexible hours including evenings/weekends as needed. Drive a personal vehicle on FRC business as required.
Education and Experience
Minimum qualifications: Experience preferred as a parent or caregiver of a youth with special needs and/or youth with mental health needs or familiarity with CRA-related issues. High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in navigating child and family-serving systems and in teaching family members involved with these systems. Must have acceptable motor vehicle and appropriate insurance coverage.
