Technical Director, Risk Control - Life Sciences and Technology at Liberty Mutual Insurance. Base pay range: $104,000.00/yr - $197,000.00/yr. The actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Role

Role Summary: As a Technology and Life Sciences Technical Director for Risk Control, the successful candidate will: Complete risk assessment and service visits with associated reports and confirmation letters to clients. Coach aligned learners and provide technical support to risk control consultants surveying Technology and Life Science accounts. Collaborate with risk control product directors and underwriting teams in technology and life science to develop tools, procedures, and best practices to improve market penetration through project development and completion. What You’ll Do

Survey and service High TIV and Complex Product Accounts: work on sophisticated Tech & Life Science accounts to mitigate risk, complete risk mitigation recommendations, and communicate and manage reports. Educate and empower: provide training, coaching, feedback, and resources to risk control consultants to promote development of the risk control team. Collaborate: work with Risk Control, Underwriting, and Claims to ensure comprehensive risk assessment and management strategies that support profitable business. Analyze and optimize: use data analytics and industry insights to identify trends and drive continuous improvement in risk control practices. Influence the future: shape risk control initiatives, policy, and procedural changes to enhance market position. Supporting our brand: contribute to Liberty Mutual’s leadership in Tech and Life Science through speaking engagements, networking, or publishing safety-related articles. May lead projects within broader initiatives. What We’re Looking For

Proven Risk Control leader with Life Science and Technology experience in the commercial insurance space; ability to balance self-performed work, coaching, and project completion. Strong technical knowledge of property, products, auto, and workers compensation relevant to Life Science and Technology with analytical skills for data-driven decisions. Exceptional coaching and communication abilities to inspire teams and clients. Ability to monitor and evaluate technical skills and report quality of Risk Control Consultants and provide actionable feedback. Adaptable and proactive mindset with passion for problem-solving and innovation in collaboration with product directors and underwriting teams. Ability to enhance Liberty Mutual’s leadership position through developing key relationships. Experience in acquiring and retaining profitable business. Understanding of regulatory and code requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA, NFPA) and risk management methodologies. Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Familiarity with electronics manufacturing, software as a product, and telecom industries. Ability to travel to client sites across the US; travel 25-50% per month. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in math, engineering, or related areas (or equivalent) and at least 10 years of directly related consulting experience in loss prevention or progressive safety/health field. Advanced degree and/or professional certification (CSP, ARM, CRM, CPCU, CIH, or CPE) is a plus. Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills to develop and maintain relationships with customers and peers. Excellent coaching and mentoring skills. Experience retrieving and entering information using various proprietary software and creating complex documents/spreadsheets with Microsoft Office. Regular travel required. Travel
