Software Development Manager, Aurora PostgreSQL. Are you interested in building hyper-scale database services in the cloud? Do you want to revolutionize the way databases are built for the cloud and have direct impact on hundreds of thousands of users who use AWS database services? Amazon Aurora is the Postgres-compatible edition of Amazon Aurora, built on a highly active open source code base. It is a relational database offering enterprise-class performance, availability, and durability with the management benefits of RDS. The team is based in Seattle, Toronto, Dublin and India, and we are looking for engineering leaders to help design, implement, and own high- and low-level system components to make Aurora highly available, scalable, reliable and fast. We are seeking experienced, passionate engineering leaders who can mentor teams, translate high-level requirements into executable plans, and drive innovations in distributed systems, concurrency, database internals, caching, query optimization, languages, and performance engineering. Responsibilities

Lead multiple teams designing, implementing, and owning components to make Aurora Database highly available, scalable, reliable and fast. Hire, mentor, and grow software engineers; harmonize operational responsibilities with innovation. Translate technical requirements into actionable project plans and deliverables. Collaborate with product, program management and senior leadership to align strategy and execution. Contribute to performance engineering and optimization efforts for large-scale database systems. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of engineering team management experience 7+ years of engineering experience 8+ years of experience defining and developing multi-tier web services Knowledge of software/hardware/network life cycle practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and live-site operations Experience partnering with product or program management Preferred Qualifications
