Position Summary The IT Technical Associate (Inpatient Clinical Systems Analyst) under general direction, works with Epic clinical applications and integrating systems. Provides production application support on a rotating 24/7 basis.
Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with Epic representatives and UI Health clinical/business teams to ensure EHR systems meet clinical and business needs.
Gather clinician/staff information on workflows, goals, and risks to define new application requirements.
Recommend innovative solutions to clinical workflow, patient safety, productivity, and financial problems; assist with design documentation; analyze and reengineer processes as needed.
Plan, perform, and test software upgrades/updates; review and test new releases, adhering to testing policies; coordinate specifications for enhancements.
Provide support for other applications as appropriate; communicate with vendors/IS staff regarding 3rd party interfaces with Epic.
Participate in design of tools and functionalities, implement modifications, and document changes.
Test modifications in a test environment; ensure data integration across platforms.
Meet with end users to determine report requirements and ensure data quality.
Identify improvements; suggest changes to policies, procedures, or practices.
Engage with vendors, maintain vendor relationships, analyze solutions, and enforce service level agreements; coordinate issue resolution.
Develop specifications and standards to ensure regulatory, medical, campus, and university compliance.
Provide application support on a rotating 24/7 basis.
Complete required system training and certifications within specified timeframes.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, related information management field, or a clinical area of study.
At least one (1) year of professional IT experience with software solutions, including design, implementation, maintenance, and management of healthcare information systems (e.g., Epic, PACS, billing, OR scheduling, diagnostic imaging, etc.). Must demonstrate ability to integrate clinical and revenue cycle systems with other applications.
Experience with system build/configuration of software applications.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of system management principles, application development, and testing strategies.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, meet commitments, and manage competing demands.
