This position coordinates all aspects of the Aviation Maintenance Technician program, including supervision of faculty and staff and performing administrative functions related to daily operations. Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate all aspects of the Aviation Maintenance program, including supervision of faculty and staff and performing administrative functions related to daily operations. Assist Campus and Home Office Education directors in curriculum development, course materials, class scheduling, and maintaining tools and equipment used by students. Complete instructor and course content evaluations regularly and timely. Conduct faculty meetings and participate in educational conferences, professional training, and seminars, as well as staff and department meetings. Assist in staff management, including interviewing, hiring, and administering disciplinary actions. Stand in as a substitute instructor to accommodate staffing needs. Assist in the creation, monitoring, and updating of Faculty Personnel Reports and Staff Personnel Reports. Advise students on academic and behavioral issues, monitor academic progress, attendance, and other concerns; act as advisor to at-risk students. Audit program curricula to ensure instructors use current syllabi, lesson plans, and textbooks. Ensure the program operates under applicable laws, regulations, and accreditations. Monitor student performance on required projects to ensure proper completion and compliance with curriculum. Document and track student actions in Campus Nexus, including attendance, probation, drops, restarts, LOAs, and transfers. Ensure supplies, materials, equipment, and tools are inventoried, maintained, and available for class projects. Assist in or manage the design and development of training aids and materials. Assign class and teaching duties; ensure availability of supplies for class projects. Ensure compliance with OSHA and workplace safety regulations. Mentor new employees to support onboarding and a positive work culture. Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor. Education
FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings Experience / Skills
Educational background equal to or exceeding the maximum credential offered by the school; approval may be made in compliance with accreditation requirements. Minimum of three (3) years related practical work experience in aviation maintenance, specifically repair and installation. At least 3 years teaching experience, with a preference for 1 year at an AIM campus. Educational administration experience to lead and manage the program. Ability to work in a fast-paced, compliance-oriented educational environment. Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and able to multi-task and work under pressure. Strong integrity, work ethic, and professionalism. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service focus in education. Motivated, goal-oriented, with problem-solving skills; able to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams); CampusNexus experience is a plus. Flexible and willing to work outside scheduled hours as needed; occasional travel.
