This is a part-time, unclassified contract position. Employment is predicated on the continuation of state/federal funding. Applicants with foreign diplomas/transcripts/degrees must have documents translated and evaluated by a NACES-approved agency prior to submission. Responsibilities

Under general direction, provide professional chair-side dental services to primarily pediatric patients and supervise clinical staff. Provide preventive, restorative and surgical dental services, including prophylaxis, topical fluoride, oral hygiene instruction, nutritional counseling, sealant placement, Pediatric Behavioral Management Dentistry with local anesthesia, and refer treatment requiring Nitrous Oxide to a pediatric specialist as N2O2 sedation is not an option. Perform procedures such as Molar Root Canal Therapy, Surgical Third Molar Extractions, Orthodontic uprighting of molars, Anterior acrylic Crowns, Composite Veneers, and In Office Fixed Space Maintainer fabrication for primary dentition. Interpret radiographic surveys of oral structures/tissues and refer to appropriate specialists when required. Ensure consent and documentation of treatment are complete and accurate; comply with OSHA, radiation safety guidelines and Hazardous Chemicals guidelines per health district and Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. Supervise assigned personnel: schedule, assign, instruct, guide, and check work; appraise performance; provide training; enforce rules; counsel, motivate, and maintain harmony; interview applicants; recommend hiring/term/discipline decisions; serve as a community mentor/instructor for students, interns, and dental residents. Qualifications and Licenses

Education and Experience:

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited college or university. Licenses and Certificates:

Licensed to practice dentistry by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners; certified to write prescriptions by federal and state regulatory authorities; valid Texas Class "C" Driver’s License or equivalent from another state. Other:
