Crossing Hurdles is a recruitment firm that assists our clients to hire the best talent. About Company: Our client is an early-stage, fast-growing company, just 9 months old and backed by Bessemer Venture Partners. This is the CEO’s second venture following a successful exit in 2021. The company provides technology to state and local governments to improve public services by replacing outdated, inefficient systems. Their mission is to close the gap between tax payments and the perception of government inefficiency, often caused by legacy technology. They are building an AI-native organization where every team member is empowered to use AI tools, such as Claude code, to automate their work. Location
New York City (Flatiron) — in-person, 5 days/week Compensation
$140k - $200k + Equity (Up to 1%) Experience & Requirements
6+ years of experience in operations, engineering or product. 2+ years of PM/product engineer at a VC-backed early stage (seed to series B) SaaS startup Experience with Claude Code and building with AI tools Define and implement AI-driven solutions that transform public sector operations and improve government services. Take ownership of a product line with full P&L responsibility, expanding beyond engagement metrics to drive tangible business outcomes. Actively use Claude Code and other AI tools in day-to-day work; while not required to be an engineer, you should be comfortable building software at some level of abstraction. Anticipate and leverage the rapid advances in AI, with an intuitive understanding of its transformative potential over the coming years. Explore and implement how AI can fundamentally change the way companies are built—scaling with AI agents instead of headcount to accelerate software development and reduce costs. Stay ahead of the curve by experimenting with new AI tools (hundreds are released every week) and applying them to drive innovation across the company. Harness the power of rapidly advancing foundational models—cheaper and more capable—to unlock new efficiencies and human-level task automation. Contribute to building an AI-native company that is lean, fast, and infinitely scalable, with the mission of making government more effective. What We\'re Looking For
