Overview RxBenefits is seeking a Director of Software Engineering – Digital to lead the development and evolution of our digital platforms, delivering seamless, scalable, and engaging experiences for over 3 million members and 3,000 clients. This role is critical to advancing our digital transformation strategy and will oversee engineering teams responsible for the Member, Admin, and Agent Portals.

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on technology leader with a strong background in software engineering, digital platforms, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring a track record of delivering high-impact solutions at scale, leading distributed teams, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities

Drive the modernization of our digital ecosystem

Enable seamless digital experiences for members, partners, and internal users

Partner across the business to accelerate product delivery, reduce technical debt, and enhance digital agility

Lay the foundation for scalable, intelligent, and secure digital platforms

Lead and manage multiple Agile engineering teams responsible for digital platforms (Member, Admin, Agent)

Define and drive the digital technology roadmap in close partnership with Product, Operations, and other stakeholders

Ensure platforms are scalable, secure, user-friendly, and aligned with modern UI/UX standards

Provide technical and architectural oversight, guiding engineering best practices and platform modernization

Champion cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-value features that improve member and client experiences

Establish and monitor key engineering KPIs (e.g., uptime, release velocity, code quality, adoption metrics)

Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing, inclusive team including offshore resources in GCC

Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement

Drive AI and automation initiatives to improve digital engagement and operational efficiency

Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and accessibility standards

Requirements / Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in engineering leadership roles

Proven success leading large-scale web application development and digital product delivery across US and offshore (GCC) teams

Strong understanding of cloud architecture (preferably AWS), microservices, and DevOps practices

Hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular) and API-first development

Experience driving quality automation and strategy across complex, distributed systems using testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent

Demonstrated ability to lead digital transformation efforts in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills

Additional / Skills

Experience working in healthcare, pharmacy benefits, or other related industries is a plus

Exposure to AI tools and strategies for digital personalization and optimization is a plus
