Overview
Accounting Technician role at Inside Higher Ed posting for San Diego Miramar College, part of the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD). Position type: Classified. FLSA Non-exempt (may accrue overtime). Location: San Diego Miramar College. Hours: Monday-Thursday 10am-6:30pm, Friday 8am-4:30pm. The selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs. Responsibilities
Perform a wide variety of paraprofessional accounting work. Post data and make arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy. Maintain interrelated records and files; maintain records and prepare reports. Operate standard office machines and equipment, including computers and calculators. Prepare clear and accurate financial statements and reports and analyze accounting data. Use computer applications, including spreadsheets and databases. Work confidentially with discretion and work independently with little direction. Qualifications
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Maintain records and prepare reports; operate standard office equipment. Possess ability to perform paraprofessional accounting work and arithmetic calculations accurately. Proficiency with computer applications, spreadsheets, and databases. Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student, faculty, and staff backgrounds. Desirable/Required Information
Foreign Degree: Coursework evaluation by a NACES member organization or ACEI is required if applicable; submit evaluation with online application. Acceptance of anonymous screening as part of the recruitment process. Application Process
