$158,618.00/yr - $191,525.00/yr Responsibilities

Lead the technical review of projects; ensuring plans, specifications, and cost estimates are accurate, complete, and buildable before they go out to bid. Provide hands-on oversight of technical staff and consultants, guiding design and engineering decisions that affect public safety. Manage complex design and construction contracts, balancing scope, budget, schedule, and quality under tight timelines. Coordinate across multiple departments, commissions, and external agencies to keep projects aligned and moving forward. Minimum qualifications

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering and five years of increasingly responsible experience in design and construction management of civil engineering projects, at least two years of which were at a level equivalent to the City\'s Associate Civil Engineer. Other requirements include possession of a valid California registration as a professional Civil Engineer and a valid California driver\'s license with a satisfactory driving record.
