Lead Business Analyst at MITRE. MITRE is a not-for-profit corporation chartered to work for the public interest. We focus on tackling nation’s challenges across cybersecurity, healthcare, aviation, defense, and enterprise transformation, with a culture of innovation and collaboration. MITRE’s Treasury, Investments, and Financial Operations team is seeking a Business Analyst to support the procurement team. This role will drive operational excellence, implement process improvements, and enable data-driven decision-making across finance to advance S2P/Procurement analytics and reporting. Roles & Responsibilities
Use an analytical mindset to improve analysis and reporting capabilities across FINOPs teams (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Travel & Expense, Treasury, Procurement, and Property), with initial emphasis on the S2P/Procurement function. Become an expert in the various finance systems to drive process improvements through technical expertise. Analyze complex data sets, narrate the business story, and provide actionable recommendations to improve efficiency and mitigate risk. Collaborate with stakeholders, review operations, diagnose problems, and deliver solutions as a management consultant to the department and broader Finance. Improve existing reports and create new tools to help the procurement team manage their business more effectively. Develop expertise in S2P and Procurement to assist and elevate the team across the business. Create timelines, process models, and execution plans to implement process changes across functions. Develop executive briefings to keep senior leadership informed of metrics, improvements, and implementation outcomes. Demonstrate strong relationship-building skills across internal teams through verbal and written communication. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in a business analyst or management consulting role. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Ability to build, develop and narrate executive-level presentations. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven analytical abilities with emphasis on developing metrics. Proven accounting and financial capabilities. Innovative and able to thrive in a high-paced environment. On-site presence required a minimum of 4 days a week. Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years working in Business Operations (accounting, payroll, treasury, A/R, A/P, etc.). MBA preferred. Project management experience. Government contracting experience. Dashboard software experience (Tableau, Power BI, etc.). Clearance
