The Cardiologist will provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. This responsibility includes the provision of and attention to the care of major and minor illnesses related to the cardiovascular system. Receives administrative supervision from a Practice Manager. Responsibilities
Assess health status of pediatric, adolescent, or adult patients through health history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests. Develop and implement plans for providing treatment of illness or injury related to the nervous system, such as seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, or Alzheimer’s disease. Work independently using professional judgment while practicing medicine and collaborate with other health care providers and staff in a team environment. Perform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with IMS credentialing/privileging policy, including but not limited to: Arrhythmia management Cardiac catheterization Cardiac stress testing Dobutamine stress test Echocardiography Electrocardiogram (EKG) Exercise treadmill test Holter recording/event monitoring Peripheral vascular disease treatment Pharmacologic stress test Stress echocardiogram Varicose vein treatment Vascular ultrasound imaging Requirements
One year of post full licensure experience in the practice of medicine or osteopathic medicine Possession of a license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in Arizona Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA guidelines and secure protection of health information at all times Ability to perform CPR on infants, children, and adults without assistance Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner Assess patient needs and arrange for specialty referrals, diagnostic and inpatient care, and make appropriate referrals for service Document patient information and visit information into IMS’s Electronic Health Record accurately and timely Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow-up during each patient visit; verify patient understanding of diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up recommendations Provide consultation to nurse clinicians and nurse practitioners Render care to IMS patients in accordance with IMS standards, community standards of care, applicable law, and state/federal non-discrimination requirements Benefits
