The Neurologist will provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. This responsibility includes the provision of and attention to the care of major and minor illnesses related to the nervous system. Receives administrative supervision from a Practice Manager. Instill the IMS mission, vision and values in the work performed.
Responsibilities
Assess health status of pediatric, adolescent, or adult patients through health history, taking physical examination and diagnostic tests Develop and implement plans for providing treatment of illness or injury related to the nervous system, such as seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, or Alzheimer’s disease Perform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with IMS credentialing/privileging policy, including: Dementia Screening Electroencephalogram or Video EEG Electromyograph (EMG) Titation Assess patient needs and arrange for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for service Responsible for documenting patient information and visit information into IMS’ Electronic Health Record in an accurate and timely manner Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit. Verify and document that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow up recommendations Provide consultation to nurse clinicians and nurse practitioners Requirements
One year of post full licensure experience in the practice of medicine or osteopathic medicine Possession of a license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in Arizona Benefits
