Summary of Job Duties The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist produces radiographic images for medical interpretation, interacts with all healthcare staff, many clerical staff members, all patient care departments and with patients’ families and visitors. This position is held accountable for performing the correct radiologic exams and producing high quality images.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree - Graduate of an approved Radiology program - ARRT Registry or registry eligible
ARRT national registry, State of Arkansas Radiation License
CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
BS Degree
More than one (1) year of experience in diagnostic radiology or a related field
Responsibilities
Operates and positions radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes and according to exam specifications, following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
Prepares patients for radiologic procedures by escorting patients to rooms, providing verbal instructions, and assisting patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed.
Explains procedures and observes patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
Serves as a back-up for clinical team members, as needed, by controlling patient flow and triaging.
Maintains working order of radiologic equipment including reporting equipment malfunctions and scheduling regular maintenance.
Reviews patient records and imports external images into the systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
