Position Summary

The staff physician shall provide patient care services and will support the Phoenix Children's mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families. Position Duties

Patient Care Services: Provide patient care services for which the physician is clinically privileged, including but not limited to: direct patient care on inpatient and outpatient bases; subspecialty consultations and follow-up; diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures; and care for urgent/emergent situations. Strive to achieve the best patient and family centered care. Support the Hospital’s patient satisfaction goals as well as division-specific targets. Support and adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards. Practice Contemporary Evidence-Based Medicine or latest experience-based medicine. Divisional Responsibilities

Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives (e.g., individual, division, hospital). Support the medical education programs and activities of the Division, including but not limited to: Provide direct supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals for inpatient and outpatient services when applicable. Conduct teaching rounds, lectures and conferences for trainees. Participate in the teaching and supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals assigned to the division. Participate in the postgraduate continuing educational activities of the division. Support the research endeavors of the division and research initiatives by other division members. Support programmatic growth of the division and satellite efforts when appropriate. Professionalism

Physician shall support the Division Chief in liaising with the professional community and general public as requested. Physician may conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside of Phoenix Children's if these activities support divisional clinical and teaching programs/initiatives. Physician shall represent Phoenix Children's in the medical and business communities and to the general public in a professional manner. The following physical and mental skills are essential to perform the duties: communicate by telephone, computer or other devices; perform after-hours or night call responsibilities as needed; work regularly scheduled hours. Education

MD or DO degree required. Board certification/eligibility in the appropriate specialty as applicable. Special Skills

Ability to move freely between facilities; ability to communicate by telephone, computer or other devices; ability to perform after-hours or night call responsibilities; ability to work regularly scheduled hours; ability to work well under pressure. Additional Requirements

Current Arizona License to Practice Medicine or ability to obtain prior to start date. Board certified/Board Eligible in the appropriate specialty. Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential
