Overview
Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead, Payments — Google. The role focuses on forming and managing partnerships to enable secure, efficient payment experiences across Google products. You will work with cross-functional teams to assess, onboard, and manage third-party payment solutions that support payments and payouts, including processing, disbursement, and identity services. You will also represent Google at industry forums to share best practices and market insights.
Responsibilities
Direct responsibility for managing partners providing payment processing or ancillary payment services.
Lead requests for information (RFI), requests for proposal (RFP), and negotiations for partner selection.
Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving partner escalations across categories such as financial, operational, technical, and regulatory matters.
Drive partner improvements based on scorecards, metrics, and assessments.
Define and drive partner strategy to support industry trends and Google\'s product roadmap.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking in industries such as Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce / Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology.
Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functional teams at all management levels.
Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
Preferred qualifications
Master\'s degree or other advanced degree.
Experience with e-commerce providers / merchants managing identity verification services, fraud services, or payment processing.
Experience working in changing and collaborative environments.
Ability to translate business and technical requirements to evaluate opportunities and impacts on cross-functional teams.
Understanding of operating rules, regulations, and key contracting terms related to payment acceptance and supporting services (e.g., KYC, identity verification).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

The Global Partnerships organization explores new opportunities with Google\'s partners and supports Google product teams with essential partnerships to power user experiences across advertising, search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments, and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies, and incubate business growth for various products.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$249,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share the specific range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Note that listed compensation reflects base salary and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
