is seeking a
Senior Infrastructure Engineer (DevOps)
to lead the design, implementation, and operations of a biotechnology company’s high-availability enterprise infrastructure. This role is hybrid in
Silver Spring, MD .
Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and manage scalable infrastructure solutions across datacenter, cloud, and network platforms.
Design and implement automation and orchestration for infrastructure provisioning and operations.
Ensure systems meet validation and compliance standards (e.g., FDA, HIPAA).
Monitor and optimize performance, capacity, uptime, and security across all infrastructure layers.
Lead migration of legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.
Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, monitoring, and alerting systems.
Support incident, problem, change, and knowledge management processes.
Collaborate with MSPs and internal teams to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
Participate in on-call rotations and change management duties.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree with 7+ years or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in enterprise infrastructure engineering.
2+ years of hands-on experience implementing infrastructure solutions leveraging AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience in biotech/pharma/life sciences IT environments is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of data platforms (Databricks, SQL Server, Data Lakes, Snowflake).
Proficient in Python, SQL, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
Skilled in scripting (PowerShell, Python, Java, etc.).
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA/HITECH) is a plus.
Compensation
Salary range: $130,000 - $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience
