The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Controller will play a key role in the credit union’s success by leading the daily operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
To Qualify for this position, You’ll Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in accounting or finance within a financial institution or corporate environment.
Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced setting.
Strong knowledge of accounting systems, financial regulations, and GAAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial planning software, and general ledger systems.
Familiarity with credit union regulations, accounting terminology, and systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred or to be obtained within five (5) years of hire.
Experience with NCUA reporting and credit union financial systems is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and forecasting skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
