The
Croquet Manager
is responsible for the leadership, training, development organization and activities of the Croquet Program, ensuring that all operations are in line with the strategic and operational objectives. Develops strategies to generate high engagement and participation in both Social and Competitive Croquet Programs with Members. Key Objectives
Build, Improve and Maintain Strong Social Croquet Programming Increase Croquet Communications to all Membership Maximize and Ensure Efficient Utilization of Croquet Lawns Introduce New Game Formats to Players Encourage New Players to try the Sport Increased Member Satisfaction as evidenced by Annual Member Survey Responsibilities
Chair the Croquet Committee (Meeting agendas, preparation and distribution of minutes) Daily Maintenance of the Courts / Set-Up (Lawn Conditions, Hoop Resetting, Pegs, Flags, Lines) Oversee and Maintain Equipment Locker (Weekly) Manage the Maintenance and Usage of the Court Reservation System Determine Adequacy of Current Full and Half Court Set Up Procedure Control of the Organization and Administration Functions Establish and Manage a Calendar of Events, including Open Play Schedule Mixers and Inter-Club Events Provide Basic Instruction, Croquet Lessons, Clinics, Drills, Advanced Strategy Development of Croquet Programs, based on Players’ Skills Skills Assessment and Handicap Administration as needed Organize Internal (Club) Tournaments and Events and Designate USCA Referees Effective Interaction with the Croquet Committee and the Plantation Croquet Association Recruit, Develop and Train Club Travel Team Establish Diverse Croquet Equipment and Club Apparel in Racquets Pro Shop Maintain Staff Presence at Croquet Facility during Scheduled Playing Time Annual Budget Development and Monitoring of Monthly Expenditures Communication of Croquet Events, Activities and Scheduling Changes Increase Plantation Membership Participation in Croquet Activities Serve as liaison staff person with the USCA (United States Croquet Association) Maintain Annual USCA Membership Liaise to FCCL as well as Interclub Qualifications/Requirements
Teaching / Instruction Playing Ability with Handicap Preferred Interpersonal Skills and the ability to form and Build Relationships with players of all levels Experience Organizing Internal Tournaments Oversee and Assist with Court Maintenance Proven Leadership and Decision Making Skills Strong Organization and Administrative Skills Attention to Detail Sense of Urgency Knowledge and Experience of Reservation Systems Knowledge and Experience of Court Set-Up and Maintenance Certification in Croquet Rules and Play Knowledge of Croquet Skills and Strategies Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Flexibility and Willingness Take on New Tasks Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to stand and sit for long periods of time and be on feet for 6 plus hours a day. Working Conditions
Works indoors, outdoors, in an office setting and in an outdoor setting; varying weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, dryness and wetness. Education/Experience
USCA certification or equivalent experience preferred in Croquet Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Training Programs. Equipment & Software Used

Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday ranging from 9am to 7pm; some weekends/holiday/evenings as needed; frequent additional hours may be required during the club’s busy season. Physical and Other Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to forty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
