Colorado Department of Revenue The Senate Republican Caucus seeks a Communications Director to lead and implement our communications strategy. The right person for this role is a skilled communicator with a deep understanding of the political landscape of Colorado, the legislative process, and political nuance regarding legislative business. He or she will be responsible for caucus messaging, relationships with media, tracking and improving media performance – including social media, and overseeing all caucus communications activities. Responsibilities
Develop and execute a regular communications strategy aligned with the caucus’s goals Write press releases, speeches, op-eds, and other communications materials Build and maintain relationships with the media, including TV, radio, and digital outlets Monitor and solicit media coverage for caucus members Produce digital and print materials, such as website and social media content Oversee the Communications Department
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Track record of success in a similar role, including experience working on a media campaign Familiarity with the Colorado legislative process and the issues important to the caucus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong leadership and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, political science, or a related field 2+ years of experience in political communications

Salary and Benefits
The salary range is $70,000-$80,000, depending on qualifications and experience. A competitive benefits package is provided that includes health/dental insurance primarily paid by the employer, employer‑provided life insurance, PERA retirement plan, 10 paid sick days and 12 paid vacation days per year (not including holidays), 12 weeks of paid family medical leave for eligible employees, and a complimentary parking space or RTD ecopass.
