What to Expect

As an Electromechanical Component Engineer for the Tesla-bot program you will be responsible for developing and designing cutting edge interconnect technologies which will drive the architecture for humanoid robotics. You will push the boundaries when it comes to connector design, dynamic interconnects and robust distribution systems. This is a high pace, high visibility role which will challenge you daily. What You'll Do

Design start-to-launch electromechanical parts and assemblies including plastics, sheet metal, heat sinks, busbars, as well as PCBA, rigid-flex PCBA and FPC MCO's Design novel static and dynamic interconnect systems, generating core technologies for solving fundamental distribution problems for humanoid robotics Build models and develop technologies to improve electromechanical component lifespans, packaging, assembly and robustness Mechanical integration analysis including thermal, design for assembly, design for test and stack-up analysis Have engineering responsibility across all stages of product development, collaborating with suppliers, Tesla SIE's/GSM's, overseeing prototyping, and managing RC, Beta, and Pilot builds What You'll Bring

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent experience Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stacks, design for manufacturing/automation/test/reliability (DFM/DFA/DFT/DFR) Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication methods for low- and high-volume Analytical background for successful design (tolerance stack-ups, solid mechanics, thermal, cost and mass optimization) Passion for electro-mechanical product design and finding simpler solutions to meet requirement Ability to present data/trade-offs to facilitate decision-making Experience taking projects from concept to production CAD experience, 2D and 3D (Catia preferred) Basic understanding of electrical design fundamentals. Familiarity with PCBAs and PCBA components Experience with FFC's, FPC's, and rigid-flex technologies preferred Compensation and Benefits

$88,000 - $228,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
