Overview
The Software Engineering team is seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Engineer to join our Property Tax and Administration System (PTAS) product team. You will help replace multiple systems that support the delivery of an integrated Assess-to-Collect (A2C) solution on the D365 platform and manage the processing of over $10 Billion annually. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain critical, high impact software solutions in the Microsoft ecosystem, primarily developing and maintaining solutions supporting the Department of Assessments and Treasury with tax collection in the F&O space. You will provide thought leadership, standards, and best practices as a technical development leader, advisor and mentor. This role requires a strong collaborative team player with extensive ERP skills and a proactive attitude. You should have demonstrable experience with Dynamics 365 F&O in addition to the Microsoft tech stack (D365, Power Platforms, X++, C#, Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud, SQL Server, etc.). You will focus on improving software quality, performance, and reliability, stay current on emerging technologies, and value customer service and attention to detail. This attitude and aptitude often makes you the go-to person for peers and business partners. Creating a modern, reliable and accurate property tax system that replaces obsolete systems and preserves funding for critical services in King County communities is challenging and a great responsibility. Responsibilities
Responsible for full application lifecycle development including architecture, design, development, testing, configuration, and deployment of Dynamics 365 F&O applications. Configure and administer Dynamics 365 F&O data management. Support software integrations, data migrations, and/or data conversions involving Dynamics 365 F&O and CE while maintaining data integrity and governance. Create and modify Dynamics 365 F&O and Power BI reports. Establish, apply, and maintain development best practices, design principles and design patterns to ensure code quality remains high. Manage code repositories in Git and develop builds, pipelines, and releases in Azure DevOps. Independently lead and manage own tasks and collaborate on projects and special assignments. Track time and update schedules according to KCIT practices. Develop and maintain detailed documentation for applications and systems, using code comments, wikis, source control, runbooks, and issue tracking to support team members. Partner and collaborate with multiple teams, product and business stakeholders across the organization to design and develop solutions. Participate in a 24x7 after-hours on-call rotation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
8+ years of enterprise experience in the Microsoft development stack using multiple technologies such as Microsoft Visual Studio, X++, C#, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET WebAPI, .NET Core, Entity Framework, AJAX, HTML, JavaScript, React/Angular, and CSS. 5+ years of professional experience in the full SDLC of Dynamics 365 F&O with proficiency in ETL methodologies. 5+ years of experience with Logic Apps, Service Bus, Canvas App Configuration, Power Portals, Power Automate, and Power BI Reporting. Proficient with Azure DevOps repositories, pipelines, Git and work item management. Experience with automated regression testing using RSAT, Selenium, Easy Repro, or other frameworks. Strong analytical and strategic skills; ability to synthesize complex information and influence decision-makers to action. Excellent communications and collaboration skills, with ability to write and present concise technical documents for business partners and technologists. Agile and DevOps mindset with a passion for software design and independent problem solving. Proven ability to lead large and complex projects and take ownership of technology and quality to deliver on schedule. Customer-focused with a commitment to high-quality end-to-end services through a quality-first culture. Positive attitude towards peers and leadership, willingness to learn from mistakes, and proactive in seeking feedback. Desirable Qualifications
Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, PowerApps, and Azure technologies. Experience managing complex ERP implementations for state, federal, or local governments. Domain experience in treasury, accounting, finance, taxes, or assess-to-collect processes. Experience with cloud integrations and Microsoft Azure services such as App Service, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Functions. Experience in NoSQL and non-relational data storage design and architecture. Public sector experience or interest in public service. Hybrid Work
The work associated with this position will be performed through a combination of onsite work, events and telecommuting as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and be within reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
