Directs the daily operations of all banquets, maintaining exceptional member and guest relations, the highest quality standards, and maximizing sales and profits. Coordinate with F&B Director and Executive Chef regarding service techniques, problem functions, and transferring products from kitchens and storerooms. Supervise staff (banquet supervisor, banquet captains, banquet servers, banquet set-up staff, beverage department) with regard to recruitment, selection, orientation, training and on-the-job performance; conduct timely staff performance appraisals. Conduct pre-shift educational/motivational meetings; circulate throughout banquet rooms during peak service hours to coach and direct service quality. Ensure banquet checks are closed and banquet reports are completed; review group function sheets daily to ensure staff scheduling for private functions. Oversee daily scheduling for staff to optimize labor costs; maintain high sanitation and safety standards; train staff daily on standards and safety. Maintain appearance, cleanliness, graciousness, and service standards; greet members and guests by name whenever possible; communicate with members/guests to ensure satisfaction and collect feedback. Manage inventories of all banquet and catering supplies; coordinate with F&B Director to order items and maintain stock; ensure equipment is organized and protected from damage. Create and monitor closing procedures for Mansion and storage areas; coach staff on service standards and daily performance opportunities; generate ideas to improve event efficiency. Empower banquet captains and supervisors; perform daily walk-throughs of banquet/event spaces to ensure standards meet Epping Forest and Health Code. Resolve issues with repair and maintenance of items in collaboration with F&B Director and Facilities Director; uphold uniform and grooming standards. Plan for future events by ordering equipment and linens; maintain ongoing communication with the team to ensure seamless event execution. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage. Hold banquet staff accountable on a daily basis. Conduct thorough inventories of all banquet and catering supplies and coordinate with the F&B Director for restocking. Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High school diploma and college preferred; or related experience. TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 7 years experience in Banquet Services at large high-volume private clubs; catering coordination/manager experience; sales experience a plus; wedding operation management a plus. JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of banquets and beverage operations, including equipment use and safety features, member and guest relations, vendor relations, systems, employee relations, budgets and costs. JOB SUMMARY:
