Salary:
The previously determined range for this position was $36.08.36/hr. to $80.98/hr. The final rate offered will be determined by the collective bargaining agreement, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a rate at or near the top of the full range for a position.

Position Summary The Staff Nurse I provides direct patient care and works to improve patient outcomes by integrating Shared Leadership, Evidence Based Practice, Relationship Based Care, and standards of nursing excellence into clinical practice. The Staff Nurse I engages with patients and families to advocate for the patient, develops educational plans, responds to changing needs, and collaborates with the health care team to promote effective patient care. The position participates in organizational, departmental, and shared leadership activities and supports department and unit goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develops, implements, and updates the patient's plan of care based on ongoing assessment and input from the patient’s family.
Shares information and collaborates with other health care team members to promote effective patient care.
Verifies and implements orders from physician, physician assistant, and/or advance practice nurse by performing interventions as prescribed and documenting in the electronic medical record.
Engages and obtains information from patient and/or family to develop an appropriate patient educational plan.
Recognizes symptoms, establishes priorities, and responds to patient’s changing needs.
Engages support personnel by delegating appropriate tasks per Illinois State Nurse Practice Act and provides support and feedback.
Advocates for patients, families, the community, and the nursing profession.
Integrates knowledge, evidence-based practice, current standards, and clinical experience to provide quality patient care as measured by nursing quality standards.
Assumes role of Charge Nurse when assigned and utilizes appropriate resources and tools.
Collaborates with other nurses to identify, promote, and provide positive learning experiences for staff and students.
Serves as preceptor and/or resource to nursing, support staff and students.
Takes responsibility for ongoing professional growth and development by identifying learning needs and pursuing strategies to meet them.
Other duties as assigned, including participation in special projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.
Current BLS/CPR and/or other required unit-specific certifications.
ACLS
2 years Cardiac ICU or 2 years ER if no Cath or EP lab experience.
BSN
Flex shifts 10 hour Days M-F with Night, Weekend, and holiday On-Call rotation
Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills, dependability, and work history
Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for on-call
Preferred Qualifications BSN, 2 year Cath Lab or EP Lab experience preferred.
