Overview
Claims Director – Commercial Auto Property Damage and Bodily Injury at Great American Insurance Group. This role oversees the Commercial Auto claims team, focusing on property damage and bodily injury, with responsibilities for day-to-day activities, team performance, development, and coaching. Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall planning, development, direction, and administration of the commercial auto claims program. Provide technical guidance and direction to team members with emphasis on litigation. Plan for and ensure budget and performance targets are met. Interact with executive management, underwriting and marketing on strategic issues. Focus on fresh, creative approaches to each claim. Offer expert advice on complex claim file management and extend settlement authority after comprehensive reviews. Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with team members. Affect settlements and reserves within prescribed authority; submit recommendations on cases exceeding personal authority. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, risk management and insurance, finance, or related field. A JD is preferred. Current P&C licenses in Texas and Florida; ability to obtain other jurisdictional licenses as required due to nationwide scope. 15–18 years of experience in commercial auto property damage and bodily injury claims. Minimum 8 years of direct Commercial Auto team management experience, including handling or oversight of complex litigation, PIP and Med Pay claims. Extensive background in coverage analysis, reserving, claims investigation, and litigation management. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Occasional travel (some overnight travel) required. Business Unit
Strategic Comp Salary Range
$130,000.00 - $170,000.00 Benefits
