You’ll launch and lead one of our first cafés, building a high-performing team, setting the standard for operations, and creating an exceptional customer experience every day. Responsibilities
People Create a motivating and engaging culture for employees Consistently celebrate, train, coach and mentor your team Cover scheduling gaps or time off in locations Create and publish all schedules according to state and local labor laws Review and approve timecards and paid time off requests in a timely manner Recruit talent in collaboration with the People Team Coordinate training and accreditation of all new hires Oversee and validate the quality of training led by Cafe Leads, providing feedback and coaching Develop your teams in a timely manner, addressing performance issues quickly and fairly Work with HQ to manage change while minimizing disruption for your team Maintain strong team engagement scores Product Be a brand ambassador with a thorough understanding of Blank Street’s products Maintain food and beverage quality standards and ensure recipes are executed consistently Accountable for ordering, vendor relations, waste management, inventory, and general compliance of Inventory Management System Ensure your team has inventory and equipment to meet demand Lead by example behind the bar and in production of high-quality food and beverage Operational and Brand Excellence Achieve company standard scores via operations auditing platform Maintain safety, cleanliness and presentation of locations; prepare for weather, new menus, etc. Foster an environment aimed at achieving an “A” DOH Grade by addressing facilities, maintenance, and pest control promptly Neighborhood Performance Develop ties with neighboring businesses and people to grow local brand loyalty Own store financial performance and inspire the team to share the vision Uphold NPS targets and address customer feedback promptly Continue leadership, training and coaching development Stay current on company tools and processes; collaborate with other GMs to share best practices Attend trainings and department meetings Qualifications
4-5+ years of experience managing and leading operations in high growth hospitality/consumer brands Experience managing large hospitality teams Experience with inventory and supply chain ordering Experience in multi-unit or multi-department management Skills
Passion for excellent customer service and hospitality Ability to perform under pressure and time constraints Excellent organizational skills Effective interpersonal and communication skills Ability to create workflows, systems and processes for dispersed teams Strong delegation and follow-up abilities Emotional intelligence and conflict resolution for a welcoming workplace Ability to manage change Develop leadership and service quality across staff levels Willingness to collaborate across departments Problem solving with urgency prioritization Attributes
