Overview
The Quality Manager is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of evidence based clinical processes with high reliability throughout USC Arcadia Hospital. The Manager oversees the Department's use of clinical databases and Healthcare analytics to provide data support for clinical improvement initiatives and is responsible for managing departmental requests for clinical data. The Manager coordinates the Department's resources to ensure meaningful, reliable information is collected, analyzed and reported in a manner that provides transparency in key metric performance and clarity in identifying improvement opportunities. This position supports operational management oversight for data collection and for the internal and external reporting of internal and external quality metrics, including pay for performance initiatives and can champion high reliability concepts to achieve strategic goals. This position is responsible for the oversight and management of data coordinators and analyzes, peer review staff, and infection control. Responsibilities

Oversee the Department’s use of clinical databases and healthcare analytics to provide data support for clinical improvement initiatives. Manage departmental requests for clinical data and coordinate resources to ensure data are collected, analyzed and reported transparently. Ensure quality metrics are captured for internal and external reporting, including pay for performance initiatives. Champion high reliability concepts to achieve strategic goals. Oversee data coordinators, analyses, peer review staff, and infection control within the department. Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in nursing or a related field OR equivalent experience in a related field (physician assistant, pre-med, etc). Minimum Experience
5 years of demonstrated experience in quality/process improvement and data management. 3 years experience overseeing process improvement, preferably in a similar role. Minimum Skills
Effective written/verbal communications and capacity to communicate data results and analytics in requested formats. Prior experience in data systems management and using data to drive improvement. Advanced analytical skills for evaluation of systems and changes, to prepare reports and analyses. Advanced interpersonal skills with staff, leaders, physicians and patients to build effective relationships and explore complex situations when evaluating workflows, policies and procedures, and systems. Ability to learn systems in depth and lead project teams to goal attainment and sustainability. Ability to design, conduct, interpret, and present quantitative/qualitative analyses. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, statistical data analysis software and hospital data management systems. Required Certifications
Registered Nurse -RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing) Current California Registered Nurse license Preferred Education
Master's degree Preferred Experience
