Solipsys, managed by Collins Aerospace, is a leader in integrated Network Centric Warfare solutions. We are seeking a talented Software Engineering Manager who is enthusiastic and proactive in writing and developing code using languages such as Java, C++, Angular, GraphQL, REST, Kafka, and TypeScript. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new software capabilities and products in an exciting environment. The Software Engineering Manager will report to the Director of Software Engineering and serve as a supervisor within the department, while also taking on direct technical leadership roles on various programs. The candidate will lead a group of software engineers across internal and external programs. This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Secret). U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility for the clearance. Location : MD440: 8170 Maple Lawn Blvd, Fulton, MD 20759 USA Position Type : Onsite Security Clearance : DoD Secret Solipsys is a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies (RTX). We work on multi-sensor and information fusion, networked situational awareness, and visualization technologies for DoD customers.

What You Will Do

Develop new software capabilities within the Solipsys Product Line using languages such as Java, C++, TypeScript, and related technologies.

Demonstrate leadership by coordinating activities of multiple engineers across programs to ensure successful technical execution and delivery for customers.

Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all levels inside and outside the company; prepare and deliver presentations tailored to the audience.

Identify and evaluate new technologies to increase software development productivity and support strategic product development.

Empower engineering staff through training, removing barriers, constructive feedback, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Support proposal development, including technical solution, pricing, and schedule content.

Travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

8 years of experience with C++ and/or Java.

Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, information retrieval.

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

Qualifications We Prefer

Hands-on experience with GraphQL, REST, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and related technologies.

Experience developing and validating complex mathematical solutions for sensors and/or C2 programs (e.g., track filters, track correlation, weapon engagement algorithms).

Experience with engineering best practices: design patterns, CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing.

Experience managing cybersecurity processes including vulnerability assessments.

Strong communication and collaborative leadership style; experience hiring and building inclusive team culture.

Active security clearance.
