Overview
Manager, Software Engineering (Onsite) at Collins Aerospace. This role reports to the Director of Software Engineering and leads a team of software engineers across programs, contributing to the development of new software capabilities within the Solipsys Product Line. What You Will Do
Develop new software capabilities within the Solipsys Product Line using languages such as Java, C++, and TypeScript. Coordinate activities of multiple engineers across programs to ensure successful technical execution and delivery. Communicate effectively with all levels inside and outside the company; prepare and deliver presentations and summaries for intended audiences. Identify and evaluate new technologies to increase development productivity and support product development. Empower engineering staff through training, removing barriers, providing feedback, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Support proposal development, including technical solution, price, and schedule content. Travel up to 25%. Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in STEM and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 5 years of experience. 8 years of experience with C++ and/or Java. Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, information retrieval. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer
Hands-on experience with GraphQL, REST, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and related technologies. Experience developing, assessing, and validating complex mathematical solutions such as track filters and engagement algorithms for sensors and C2 programs. Advocacy for engineering best practices including design patterns, CI/CD, code review, and automated testing. Experience managing cybersecurity processes including vulnerability assessments. Strong communication and collaborative leadership skills; experience hiring, onboarding, and building inclusive team culture. Active security clearance preferred. What We Offer
