Sr. Field Applications Scientist - Life Sciences (PNW/Remote)

Job title and employer: Sr. Field Applications Scientist - Life Sciences (PNW/Remote) at Leica Biosystems. This role provides in-field technical applications support for automated histopathology products, helps achieve regional sales and profitability goals within the assigned territory, and assists in training and mentoring newly hired Application Specialists as well as those needing development. The position is part of the North America Applications team and supports the PNW region; fully remote arrangement available. Responsibilities

Drive Leica to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual unit and reagent goals for respective products in the United States. Train and mentor other Application Specialists on new product technologies and their applications in diagnostic and/or research histopathology, cytopathology or cytogenics environments. Share technical and industry knowledge, including use of conference calls, Teams, and PowerPoint presentations. Design and perform experiments to investigate and solve mid-level+ technical applications problems. Work with sales personnel and Field Service Engineers to drive customer relationships within the assigned geography and take an active leadership role in regional projects. Qualifications

Education: BA/BS in Life Sciences or equivalent experience. Understanding of product-relevant histology marketplace or a related discipline. Minimum 3+ years’ Histology laboratory experience in a clinical, research, or industrial setting (with practical focus on IHC/Research where relevant). Minimum 3+ years of experience in optimization, operation, functionality, and support of both manual and automated IHC instrumentation and related products (preferred). Travel and Vehicle Requirements

Travel: 75%, including overnight, within the Pacific Northwest area and other US locations. Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred additional experience

Demonstrating leadership and mentorship aligned with Danaher Core Values across teams. Demonstrate advanced product knowledge. Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues. This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement where applicable. Salary range for this role is $105,000.00 – $115,000.00, with potential bonus/incentive pay and standard benefits.
