Overview
The System Administrator II will be responsible for managing and supporting the Virtualization, Storage, Active Directory, Database, Backup, Server environment, Cloud, and SaaS solutions. The successful candidate must work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, quickly learn new technologies, and adapt to new ideas and methodologies. This position participates in the critical system support structure with other IT departments and has shared leadership responsibility for coordinating technical standards and activities in support of business and clinical systems. The role requires a high degree of autonomy and self-direction once assigned work. Responsibilities Virtualization using Nutanix AHV
Disaster Recovery using both High Availability and Backup/Restore technology
Managing Active Directory and Group Policy
Administering Windows Server and IIS
Databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL
Manage Cloud and SaaS solutions
Administer Entra AD
Administer Office 365
Executing project-related tasks
Participate and occasionally lead in team meetings, team-building activities, and other opportunities to strengthen the department
Actively maintain education and cross-training on IT Infrastructure areas of expertise
Prepare, lead, and attend training when available and appropriate
Develop and maintain standards for the technical environment and create documentation for processes and procedures
Develop automation using PowerShell to streamline and improve processes
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues as they arise
Monitor system performance and work to optimize the environment to ensure high levels of user productivity
Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a professional business manner, and the ability to interact with people of differing professional levels
Assist management in identifying opportunities for process improvement within the department
Maintain detailed and accurate records related to endpoint management
Create, follow, and maintain documentation and checklists to ensure efficiency and consistency
Familiar with enterprise-grade system monitoring technologies
Familiar with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
Occasional after-hours work when needed, which can include weekends, holidays, or non-standard business hours

Position Qualifications
Education High School Diploma and demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the key responsibilities of the position
BS in Information Systems or related field preferred
Microsoft MCSA / MCSE preferred
Experience
8-10 years’ work experience managing Windows systems Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
Highly proficient with Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS
Knowledge of several of the following: enterprise anti-virus, enterprise backup systems, enterprise monitoring/reporting systems, converged infrastructure management
Demonstrated work in hands-on configuration, maintenance, and direct responsibility for enterprise IT systems, with preference for a Health Care environment
Familiarity with ITIL, HIPAA, HITECH, and other standards applicable to Health Care IT
Highly proficient with the two most recent versions of Microsoft Server Operating Systems
Familiar with PowerShell
Travel Required
Frequent travel to locations in Southeast Alaska
