Global Health Director, Architecture

Position will be located in an existing US-based HDR architecture office: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Denver, Omaha, Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis, Dallas, Houston, Boston, New York, Pennington, Philadelphia, Arlington, Richmond, Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa. The expected compensation range varies by location and experience. Primary Responsibilities
HDR’s Global Director of Health leads a multidisciplinary practice and sets strategy to advance design excellence, drive growth, and strengthen client impact across the healthcare industry. Align market strategy, business development, design quality, and operations to deliver measurable client and organizational outcomes. Practice Leadership: evaluate health sector practice across regions, identify gaps, and drive priority improvements; recruit, develop, mentor, and retain leaders and teams; provide executive guidance to project teams; oversee practice reporting in partnership with Health Strategic Manager(s). Business Development and Market Strategy: lead market sector business development with Regional Health Directors and Health Principals; establish sector plans, fees, budgets, and outcomes; coordinate with leadership to position and win priority pursuits; build and maintain executive client relationships; collaborate on market analysis and network building; coach pursuit teams on client capture and proposals. Brand and Thought Leadership: set strategy for market communications to elevate HDR’s brand and thought leadership; guide external and internal communications, events, and knowledge sharing. Market Sector Infrastructure: produce monthly global pursuit reports; maintain client distribution lists; lead content for road shows and presentations. Required
Bachelor's degree in Architecture Registered Architect Minimum of 12 years of industry experience including leadership Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong client management and development track record with growing/leading a practice Strong business skills in budgeting, staffing, and operations Strategic marketplace positioning能力 Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture Preferred
Extensive knowledge and experience within the Health Sector Experience developing and executing targeted market and client strategies Advanced credentials (e.g., ACHA, LEED, EDAC) Willingness to travel What We Believe and Our Commitment
