About Immunology Our Immunology team leads in the development of transformational medicines for immunological disorders. You will influence medicine development by sharing scientific insights and supporting external collaborations, trials, and education for Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and investigators.

Job Description The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) provides fair, balanced, objective scientific information and education to opinion leaders, health care professionals, and internal partners. The Sr. MSL serves as a scientific lead for current and future J&J Innovative Medicine products within the Therapeutic Area alignment, stays current on treatment landscape trends, and supports investigator-initiated research. The Sr. MSL builds external relationships and manages a geographic territory, prioritizing in-person engagements when appropriate. The Sr. MSL develops and maintains a territory strategic plan with educational activities for OLs, HCPs, institutions, and community practices. The role requires competency in Influence & Results Focus, Communication, Stakeholder Engagement, Product & Therapeutic Area Knowledge, and Data Insights & Dissemination. Compliance with regulatory and healthcare guidelines is required.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a field strategic plan for the territory.

Respond to scientific inquiries from HCPs/investigators/health systems with data, including real-world evidence, to meet customer needs.

Present data in a manner appropriate to the audience; execute proactive and reactive outreach per approved processes.

Integrate scientific data into real-world practice; adapt communication style to the audience.

Identify and collaborate with field partners to support healthcare providers and patients.

Lead educational activities and identify gaps; participate in Immunology projects.

Provide clinical trial support, site identification, issue resolution, and participation in meetings (e.g., site initiation, investigator meetings).

Represent J&J at scientific meetings, congresses, advisory boards, and speaker engagements.

Continuous Support of Department Operations and Internal Partners

Complete administrative requirements timely and accurately (e.g., expense reports, activity documentation).

Provide regional support to enhance sales training and field competencies.

Collaborate with field-based partners and Immunology MSL teams; participate in large-scale projects.

Qualifications

Required: PharmD, PhD, MD with 3+ years in hematology, immunology, or auto/alloimmune disease experience.

Minimum 3 years MSL experience, or 2–3 years relevant clinical/research experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to use remote technologies.

Ability to travel up to 70%.

Preferred

Launch experience in rare disease preferred.

Significant experience giving presentations is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range:

$137,000–$200,000

per year. Eligibility to participate in Company-sponsored benefits, 401(k), long-term incentives, and paid time off as described by company policies.
