About the Opportunity
The Staff Accountant
position is responsible for supporting finance functions, including month-end close, payroll, travel and expense monitoring, and accounts payable; collaborates within the corporate finance team and regularly communicates and coordinates with other site finance teams and departments. Location:
Morton, IL, Chicago, IL or Cleveland, OH This role must be onsite at 5 days/week
Responsibilities
Under limited supervision: Prepares journal entries and maintains the general ledger Performs Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable balance sheet reconciliations Reconciles weekly payroll activity for the monthly bank reconciliation Reconciles Perpetual Inventory to the general Ledger Performs month-end close, including recurring journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Supports consolidated Pursuit Aerospace month-end closing process Supports in Year-End close & Audit Assists in monitoring travel and expense, and employee credit cards Participates in supporting ad hoc projects Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis. Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong Excel experience, including v-lookup, index/match, pivot tables, sorting, filtering, and formatting Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures Knowledge of financial reporting Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems Analytical and problem-solving skills Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills Organizational skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills Ability to work independently and be part of a team
Physical Requirements
Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment. Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
