Overview
Software Developer Application - SME A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify. The Software Developer Application - SME provides subject matter expertise and technical leadership for the development, maintenance, and support of the SFLC Central application (Vibe Platform) or a government-approved alternate capability. This role ensures that software solutions meet functional, technical, and cybersecurity requirements while supporting mission-critical operations. The position requires a favorable fingerprint check, Tier 1 investigation, adherence to USCG Privileged User Management Program (PUMP), and execution of relevant Non-Disclosure Agreements.

Responsibilities
Serve as a technical and management SME, providing leadership on major tasks, technology assignments, and project implementation. Maintain, develop, test, and support the SFLC Central application or approved alternate platform, including underlying software such as Java, Apache, and Vibe Platform components. Create custom code, patches, and other system modifications as needed to meet operational requirements. Optimize application performance and ensure compliance with parameters set by the SFLC Central Local Configuration Control Board (LCCB). Develop and maintain documentation required for system authorization, application management, contingency restoration, and backup procedures. Collaborate with the SFLC LCCB to implement changes aligning with business rules, processes, and cybersecurity guidelines. Provide on-site, module-specific training to key personnel to ensure proper understanding of application workflows and capabilities. Deploy updates, upgrades, and customizations in non-production and production environments and document changes approved by the SFLC LCCB. Demonstrate expertise or provide similar capabilities for modules including SFLC BOD Requests, Activities, Projects, Maintenance/Publication Feedback, Change Records, Mandatory Turn Ins (MTIs), Quality Deficiency Reports (QDRs), Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs), Customer Service Inquiries, Requisitions, and Surveys. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities
Extensive experience in software development and application support, including Java and Apache Tomcat environments. Demonstrated ability to serve as a technical SME and provide leadership in project and business process management. Experience developing custom code, patches, and application modifications in mission-critical environments. Strong documentation skills, including technical references, restoration procedures, and training materials. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance with PUMP requirements. Excellent communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills. Favorable fingerprint check and Tier 1 investigation required for DoD CAC access. Acceptance to C5I/CG-6/CG Cyber or Information System Owner requirements under PUMP. Execution of relevant Non-Disclosure Agreements. Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
