The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview The Assistant Chief Perfusionist (ACP) works under the direction of the Chief Perfusionist.
Qualifications Required:
Must be certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
Minimum of two (2) years experience after certification required.
Completion of training at an accredited school of perfusion technology is required.
Essential Functions
The ACP has management responsibilities including, staff management, budget creation, inventory management, scheduling and adherence to all federal, state and JC requirements for Perfusion Services.
The ACP will maintain education and competency levels and records for the Perfusion staff.
Clinically, the Chief Perfusionist must maintain adequate circulatory and respiratory support during open heart surgery. This support includes: set-up and operation of the extra-corporeal circuit, set-up and calibration of physiological monitoring as required for the conduct of perfusion, set-up and operation of auto transfusion equipment, calibration and operation of point of care testing equipment, as well as, maintaining proper perfusion records.
The ACP is responsible for the set-up and operation of advanced life support systems including: intra-aortic balloon pump, ventricular assist devices, and adult ECMO.
Ensures that the unit is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
