About the M.A. Degree Program

CIIS has developed one of the first accredited graduate degree programs in Integrative Health Studies in the United States. A two-year, nonclinical master's degree program that prepares graduates to enter the innovative field of integrative health, the Integrative Health Studies program blends insights from scientific biomedicine with time-honored perspectives on mind-body-spirit wholeness, traditional healing, and holistic, complementary and integrative health modalities. The 36-credit M.A. degree program is delivered online over two years (fall and spring semesters only). There is a 4-5 day residential academic intensive at the onset of each semester. The mission of the IHL program is to educate individuals to serve as integrative health coaches by providing holistic, culturally sensitive services and wellness management programs to diverse populations. Requirements: Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position includes responsibilities for teaching the 3-unit course, "Patient Navigator," a graduate-level course in Integrative Health Studies, which will expand the following year into "Care Navigation and Health Equity." You will also be required to attend the in-person intensive and all-faculty department meetings. The course is developed, but will be enhanced by the adjunct faculty, with guidance from the program chair. Familiarity with integrative health is required, and familiarity with health coaching is preferred. Minimum Qualifications

Earned master1s degree or equivalent in public health, social work, health education, community health or clinical health degree or related field from a regionally accredited university. Teaching experience at the college level at a regionally accredited institute of higher education. Knowledge of patient navigation and ability to apply that knowledge in the context of health coaching. Experience in curriculum design and developing assessments in alignment with strategic missions. Preferred Qualifications

Academic and/or research experiences and interests with diverse and/or underrepresented groups. Experience in health coaching, lifestyle medicine or behavioral health. Experience in cultures other than your own and developing courses with learning outcomes that address diversity, equity, and social justice issues, especially culturally-sensitive health care and health disparities. Experience with student advising and support. Attendance at national conferences in relevant areas. Additional Information

Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically Monday through Friday. Background Check
