City National Bank . WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

This position evaluates and affirms/declines credit requests for lending units that exceed signing authority, and provides oversight to the Personal and Business Banking and Small Business Consumer Division. Responsibilities include monitoring the credit quality of assigned portfolios to ensure adherence to risk parameters and regulatory/credit policies, assisting lending officers in managing credit risk, and supporting relationship managers, credit analysts, and other colleagues involved in credit evaluation. Additional responsibilities include ensuring execution and alignment on the Roles and Responsibilities across the 3 Lines of Defense for Credit Risk (1st and 2nd Line), focusing on synergy and timely, accurate oversight. The role also evaluates the effectiveness of portfolio management, behavioral monitoring, and reporting by the 1st Line PBB and SBC, and supports the SVP, GRM- Credit for Consumer and Residential Credit Risk. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Evaluate and examine credit requests exceeding delegated authority to assess credit worthiness, including loan quality, risk classification, loan structure, collateral analysis, pricing, and policy adherence. Approve or decline requests within delegated authority and, when needed, analyze and recommend actions to SVP, Consumer and Residential Credit Risk, or Chief Credit Officer. Review and assess completeness, accuracy, and usefulness of established credit policies and procedures. Recommend policy changes for approval and oversee implementation with 1LOD procedures and processes where appropriate. Ensure all loans comply with established policies and procedures. Periodically review loan portfolio reporting with Relationship Managers to ensure appropriate classification and risk trends. Monitor portfolio quality and exposures; guide relationship managers in developing action plans to maintain portfolio quality. Participate in evaluating adversely classified credits or relationships and recommend or approve action plans within delegated authority to remedy credit distress. Collaborate with relationship managers to identify alternatives for resolving problem loans. Participate in Loan Review and Compliance exit reviews and ensure corrective actions are taken to cure exceptions and prevent recurrence. Monitor delinquencies, accrual exceptions, and overdrafts. Provide support to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and administrative duties. Maintain commitment to bank programs such as CustomerFirst, CRA, Community Lending Mortgage Program, SBA loan programs, and Affirmative Action. Comply with bank risk management, operational, and credit policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA, KYC, CRA, Fair Lending, Code of Conduct). WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Minimum 8 years of banking experience (preferably in Consumer and Small Business Banking) Minimum 7 years in 1LOD or 2LOD roles with oversight of Community Lending Programs for Credit Risk Minimum 3 years’ experience with a broad spectrum of clients including High Net Worth individuals Additional Qualifications

Strong interpersonal, credit, problem-solving, and decision-quality skills Strong analytical skills Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines Thorough knowledge of bank practices and ethics May require specialized knowledge in Consumer and Small Business Products Good negotiation, presentation, and critical-thinking skills Proficient in reporting and data analysis Knowledge of bank credit products, policies, procedures, and philosophy Understanding of regulatory guidance including 12 CFR 30 Appendix D and OCC Bulletin 2000-20 Credit Administration/Adjudication experience preferred for complex credits Market cycle and problem credit management experience preferred WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

Compensation

Starting base salary: $127,626 - $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions. Benefits and Perks
