Overview
Litigation Services Attorney role at Latham & Watkins. The Litigation Services Attorney is part of Latham’s Litigation Services team and will provide high level legal analysis on procedural and strategic issues in state and federal court, review filings for form and content, prepare procedural roadmaps for upcoming court filings, and advise on court rules, civil procedure, filing protocol, and deadline calculations. This role is located in Washington, DC, and may be eligible for a hybrid/onsite schedule. Base pay range
$145,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Conduct judicial research to develop profiles and analytics on specific judges, including review of transcripts Oversee and perform calendaring functions for litigation deadlines across contested matters, using a firm-approved calendaring program and communicating deadlines to litigation teams Oversee and perform court services functions, including researching and retrieving court documents, filing client and Firm documents, processing daily litigation mail, and coordinating process servers Prepare roadmaps to guide attorneys through procedural and logistical elements of complex court filings, flag procedural intricacies, highlight strategic opportunities, and provide best practices based on judicial preferences Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information Qualifications
J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school Current bar admission in a relevant state Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a practicing litigation attorney and/or in a Docket/Calendar/Litigation Services environment Advanced knowledge of applicable court rules and procedures across multiple jurisdictions Ability to articulate complex court rules and calendaring issues clearly and concisely Strong analytical skills to comprehend and convey complex legal principles Benefits & Additional Information
